I adore living in Kenya, but every year when we visit family and friends in the U.S., I’m reminded of how amazing it is there, too. This morning we took the girls to the “SprayGround,” a FREE water play area near my mom’s house. What an amazing place!
The SprayGround has multiple fountains that splash and spray water everywhere! It’s perfect for crazy hot summer days (and it is HOT here right now, with temps upwards of 35*C!).
I wasn’t sure how Claire would like it, because she can be kind of funny about getting water on her face. But she just jumped right in! (I couldn’t even get any photos of her, she was just running around like a maniac the whole time!) Heidi took a while to warm up to the idea, but then she got really into it. She loved standing under the fountain, letting the water run down her face and try to drink it… 🙂
There was also an adjacent playground with swing sets, slides, and climbing frames for the kiddos. There was also a shaded area with picnic tables to get out of the sun. The best part? This is all FREE to the public! Amazing…
I think the SprayGround will be a regular feature during our visit. The kids really loved it and it was the perfect way to beat the heat!
