Conversations with Claire and Heidi

Do your kids say funny things? Sometimes we have the funniest conversations with our kids. As Heidi gets older, she has become more and more verbal, and she says some seriously hilarious stuff – especially about potty training. Meanwhile, Claire has become quite deep, and at times a bit dark and existential. Here are a few gems they’ve said recently…

Me: Heidi, do you want to go pee pee or poo poo before we leave?
Heidi: (Holds one finger in the air) I’m going to go one baby poo. Just one.

Me: (Watching Heidi play with our neighbor’s cat, who was meowing loudly) Is the kitty cat talking to you?
Heidi (shaking her head): No, the kitty doesn’t talk. He just meows. Kitty doesn’t talk, Mommy.

Claire: Mommy, I want to live with you forever.
Me: I think you’ll probably change your mind about that one day.
Claire: No, I don’t think so. I don’t know when I’m going to move out of this house… Probably when you and Daddy die.

Me: Heidi, you’re so funny!
Heidi: I’m not funny! I’m Heidi!

Heidi (on the potty): Look! I made a tiny poo! IT’S SO CUTE!

Claire: Mommy, I never want to get married.
Me: Why?
Claire: Because I don’t want to have kids!
Me: (laughing)
Claire: (exasperated) Seriously! What’s so funny?

As you can see, there’s never a dull moment with these two! What about you? What funny conversations have you had with your kids recently?

I’ve been noting them down at every opportunity! Heidi gave us a great one this morning, but I didn’t have a pen or my phone handy, and I’ve already forgotten it! Must capture them for posterity… 🙂

I am really enjoying your blogs mama Claire and Heidi, kids are really funny, and I miss those times when Ariya was younger and would just tell me things that were just out of this world, but she is still a kid and always finds a way to chuckle mummy
